After an honorable discharge from the ARMY in 1993, John Cherry went to work for the family owned company. In 1995, he attended the OSHA 500 and later the OSHA 501 at the TEEX OSHA Training Institute so that he could teach the construction and general industry courses to the in-house employees.
With his background in the field and knowledge of safety, he has been able to grow his career by applying his knowledge to the workforce of how to still be productive while maintaining the highest safety for the workers.
With his desire to pursue his passion in safety, he left the family company and went to work for a Fortune 500 company where he was the Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor over the inhouse and contractor employees on the BP project in Texas City.
